The open enrollment window has opened for Medicare supplemental insurance, with many large health insurance providers ending Medicare Advantage plans or withdrawing from the market entirely. Insurance agent Jeff Schwebach says cost shifting to cover out-of-pocket maximums is a burden on insurance providers who cannot afford to provide coverage. He is unsure that the Advantage Plan and similar supplemental policies will exist in several years. The open enrollment period runs until December 7th.
