Giants Sign Former Veteran Steelers Defensive Lineman
A former defensive lineman of the Pittsburgh Steelers has found a new home in the NFL. The New York Giants have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers veteran defensive lineman Dean Lowry to their practice squad. Lowry, who had signed a one-year contract to return to the Steelers in May, missed the entire 2025 campaign due to an ACL injury sustained during training camp practice. Despite not recording a statistic this preseason, Lowry was passed by rookie Kevin Jobity for the final spot on the Steelers' 53-man roster. The Steelers instead signed depth defensive linemen Esezi Otomewo and Kyler Baugh to their training squad. In his nine-year career, Lowry has played in 132 games (85 starts), recording 271 tackles (144 solos), 23 tackles for loss, 35 quarterback hits, 16.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception and 18 passes defended.
