Glut Of Gun Seizures Continues At Pittsburgh International Airport

A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly attempting to get a loaded weapon through a Pittsburgh International Airport security checkpoint. Franklin Barker, 58, was charged with one count of carrying a firearm without a license after Transportation Security Administration officers observed a handgun in his backpack and alerted Allegheny County police, who alerted the FBI. Barker was found to have no valid concealed carry permit and faces federal civil fines of up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can face up to €13,910. So far this year, 18 firearms have been confiscated at airport security checkpoints.
