The week ahead: Penguins get much-needed schedule rest, and some potential returns
The Pittsburgh Penguins have some days off this week and could get some players back in the lineup very soon. The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking ahead to a busy week, with the team returning home for games against the Florida Panthers and the Nashville Predators, which may have been their two best back-to-back games of the season. The Penguins were the better team in both games, despite trailing for a good portion of the Nashville game. They enter the week sixth in the NHL in goals per game (3.83) and have the No. 1 power play unit in the league (38.1 percent). The two players I do NOT want to see come out of the lineup are Ville Koivunen and Hendrix Lapierre, who have been improving their game performance. The team is also dealing with the loss of top center Nick Suzuki, who will be sidelined for several weeks.
