GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - The Colorado Mesa Mavericks Men’s Lacrosse Team and Softball Team have been dominating their fellow Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opposition.

Over on the softball diamond, the Mavericks were coming off a dominant road trip, where they broke the program’s single game home run record not once, but twice.

The first of two double headers against New Mexico Highlands, the Mavs didn’t miss a beat. CMU hit seven more home runs while holding the Cowgirls to just four hits in a pair of victories, 9-0, and 9-1.

Junior Infielder Myah Arrieta continued her assent to the top of the RMAC Homerun leaderboard at 17 on the season. After a surge last week where the Central High School Alumni hit eight home runs in four games, she kept it going, hitting one in each game.

With the win CMU Softball extends their winning streak, that dates back to March 3, to 15-straight games.

Across campus, Maverick Men’s Lacrosse team also continued their torrid pace. In their 20-4 victory against CSU Pueblo, the Mavericks had 17 different players record a score.

The victory makes it three in a row for a Mavericks team that is undefeated in RMAC play.

Mavs have another RMAC opponent in Adams State coming into town Saturday.
