AD–WO to reimagine Heinz Architectural Center
AD–WO, the award-winning, art, architecture, and urban design practice led by Emanuel Admassu and Jen Wood, has been commissioned to reimagine the Heinz Architectural Center. AD—WO, led by Emanuel Admassu and Jen Wood, has been commissioned to reimagine Pittsburgh's Heinz Architectural Center. The project aims to create a more porous relationship between architecture practice and the study of architectural ideas, allowing for public dialogue and engagement. The Heinz architectural Center opened in 1993 and has hosted 76 exhibitions and served as a hub for research, publications, programs, and collecting. AD—Wo will use a material palette inspired by Pittsburgh's geological history to create flexible gallery spaces, a collection study center, and infrastructure that supports stronger connections between curatorial research and visitors.
